[edit] Sforzo or Expulsion, including Sforzi di Cambiamento

The Sforzo (pl. -i) is the Italian term for the expulsion. The sforzo di cambiamento is a concept from Radaellian fencing, in which the sforzo is made with the spine of the blade, starting in one position of engagement and ending in another.[1]

The sforzo or expulsion strikes the opponent’s sword with force in order disarm the opponent or to deflect the blade from its position.[2] The execution of the sforzo is similar to the beat, but a bit bigger, and definitely stronger. The sforzo is strongly percussive and slides down the opponent's blade as it strikes it.
